"Back Here" by BBMak

Back from Penang!!! It is a bittersweet experience coming back.......knowing that I am back at home now and also that I have one more week of holidays left with so much stuff to accomplish.....

Day 0 Not a Grassland coach ride

Our coach trip to Penang was nonetheless flattering with our toilet deprived coach and the extra strong air con not to mention I have to sacrifice my Adidas ski jacket for Maojie - my sleeping partner....Haha....who was wearing singlet, shorts and slippers on the coach......Had a long talk with him regarding bgr and politics.....gained a few insights and it was nice talking while everyone was trying to sleep even though we were a pain in the ass.........most of the times its Maojie for his inability to whisper.....Haha

Day 1 "Best friend" - Ai Ling from Penang

We were in a world of our own in Penang even though we were in Malaysia and we are chinese.........Our first experience of bargaining was when we were looking for a cab.......A cab with a meter that the driver doesn't use and they have the final say how much we have to pay.......Are we going to bow down to that! Of course not.....not until a good samaritan called Ai Ling came to our rescue......She was going to be our driver for the next 2 days and of course we learned there is no such thing as a free lunch......We in the end have to pay her for her services but it was definitely much cheaper as compared to the cabbies.....

Day 1 Kek Lok Si Temple / Botanical Gardens / Penang Hill (it should be a mountain) / Gurney Plaza

I was amazed at the humongous (not big, not large, not enormous, not gigantic but humongous) size of the temple and the Buddha statue.....It was a cool place where we took the incline lift to the highest point of the temple and received free expired chocolates from the helpers.......not knowing that the date stamped is the manufacturing date......Ditto! Siwen claimed to be there before and thought she saw snakes but the whoo haah was a mere fraction of her memory......Haha...
One thing I realised is that beggars in the temples are pretty blatant at their disingenuous attitude when begging.........One of them was smoking in front of me while holding a cup when begging.......

Botanical gardens in penang was a mess........I was amazed as how they would classify it as a tourist attraction except for their ferocious monkeys and the tarantula version of millipedes....and the foot of the waterfall......

Here again Ai-Ling came to our rescue and brought us back to Berjaya Georgetown hotel where we cleaned ourselves up and headed to Gurney plaza for a first day of shopping...

Gurney plaza is like any other shopping centres in Singapore just that the things there are much cheaper that I would have thought. I bought myself a Levi's Tee and a Diesel singlet my first trip there.....
Movie was priced at like Rm $8 and movies were pretty decently recent.....Super sapiens = Hellboy .......I thought it was a B grade action film when I first came across the title.....

Day 2 the sun the sand and the sea

I spent Rm $100 in exchange for 3 first time experiences and all 3 I had my fair share of embarrassment...

1) Parasailing
After witnessing Siwen's magnificent landing, with everyone laughing their heads off, I told myself just land without my face flat. Well, I did not land with my face flat but I landed on my butt which was an okay deal at that time but not when everyone after me landed beautifully with both their legs.....Clement almost started off with his face flat, almost stealing the show from Siwen but parasailing belongs to Siwen.....haha

2) Banana boat
This one was so cool......I never thought the last seat would be the most fun...I was desperately hanging onto dear life at the last seat....Everyone was hopping like kids on tramboline and I was being pushed up by their effect on the boat....so technically I didn't hopped but I was hopping.....
Capsizing was fun especially when everyone flew from the boat but I was the only one that flew from the boat at the last trip back because I think resonance was reached when the first 6 people hopped and I got the brunt of it....It flew me off my seat and with one hand, I was hanging onto yonghe's life vest and I decided to let myself go without pulling him along.......Haha....It was priceless Haha.....plus I got a free jetski ride back to the shore

3) Jetski
I was telling Maojie......my reckless jetski buddy that I didn't want to be the first in history to fall off a jetski after his sharp turn bonanza since the instructor said no one has fall off from the jetski.....LIAR!
the pillion ride was so unstable.......There was nothing to hold on except the driver.....and I did the unexpected and fall off again! I felt like crap the minute I knew I was in the water cos I had to think of stories and excuses to explain why I fell....Haha...

We sneaked into Golden sands resort to wash ourselves up and we were so close in escaping without them realising it until we were caught by this guy in white who shooed us away.......

We spent our second evening shopping again and played the modified heart attack game at night.....I think I sucked at that game........I just can't keep my mouth shut...

Day 3 shopping paradise

Day 3 was spent on shopping and shopping alone.......And the suprising thing was that I wasn't tired at all. Because you will never know what is the meaning of cheap until you arrive at Komtar........Well I wanted to buy lots of stuff but everything just went wrong....."sorry no size" was the phrase I heard a gazillion times....the PUMA shoes and slippers.........the Levi's vintage jeans........sigh......It was a total misery for me.....until I found a PUMA long sleeves shirt at another mall.......YaaaY......hAppY!

The only regret this trip was that there was not enough shopping time for mE!! I sound like a shopaholic now Haha...............

"Leaving On A Jet Plane" by Chantel Kreviazuk / 50 First Dates

Ok Ok I must admit 50 First Dates turned out to be a pretty good movie. I went into the movie theatre with a bit of apprehension....I never like Adam Sandler's comic ways......Drew Barrymore is not the actress I would die for to watch.....I went in because there wasn't a diplomatic vote.....Haha.... I would have rather watch Kill Bill vol.2 or Dawn of the Dead.......but still its quite a good movie.....Rob Schneider stole the whole show!!! He was so funny as a Latin Hawaiian.......I thought he was Latin though......Well, Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin) was in the show as well but he was not a hobbit in this one but he turned out to be some iron pumping steriod eating top heavy as well as bottom heavy muscle dude..........

The ironic thing was that I was on the MRT with Andrea. my church friend. I was telling her that out of the many genres of movies, I have no love for romance, comedies and action films........
1) Too soppy for my liking.....no realism......
2) Slapstick comedies make me feel stupid
3) Arnie action movies make me walk out of the theatre with the notion that one man can kill 1 billion people...

It is hard to believe that someone would do so much for another person (with respect to the movie) .......... Its hard.....thats why I always find movies like that unrealistic but I am sure they are people like that who are willing to be willing....

Don't get me wrong yah...I am not going to try to save the world, not flying to the asteroids, not becoming Bruce Willis nor Ben Affleck........I am just leaving to Penang on a coach......Haha.....For those of my ardent readers. sorry for the little break.........I need it.....Haha........Will be back soon for canvassing and float building...........Have fun...

"I Will Survive" by Gloria Gaynor

I was so inspired to enter this blog entry after watching today's episode of Survivor.......I knew Shii Ann was going to win immunity because of her "I will not go down without a fight speech" in the last episode....I even dreamt of her winning cos I like her so much back from Thailand until now......

She was told by the rest of her stupid tribe that she would be the next to go. they treated her with disrespect, ostracised her and basically gave her the lousy end of the deal......especially Alicia and that annoying Jenna........ She defied all odds and beat everyone including Rob and Rupert - 2 of the strongest guys in an endurance test.....and she has the right to be excited (I won't say cocky) because of the fact that her stupid tribe treated her like shit..... I would throw it to their faces too if I was her.....
Shii Ann - you are amazing....the fact that you stood there like the statue of liberty and fought against Rupert in the end with the remaining of your stupid tribe supporting him and wishing that you fail, I am impressed.

Even though, you still might be in danger next week, I was glad that you have your fair share of success. I never rant on Survivor in my blog for so long before cos I am afraid people will not be able to understand what am I writing cos they might not follow the show.....But it was such an inspirational episode and I am so proud of her.......

Chapera you suck!
"You people are really stupid players.....letting Rob control the whole game"

"Colours Of The Wind" by Vanessa Williams

Yesterday, the class was at Sentosa and a few of us stayed back...well more than a few......we played charades and suprisingly the answers just came out from our mouth even though how hard the words were......

Movies GAlore!!
1) James and the giant peach - I finally knew that there is such a movie.....at least according to Siwen
2) Linlin's rendition of Brendan Fraser in George of the jungle was pretty flattering
3) Pui Ling showed us her definition of rape...
4) Nobody likes tomatoes.....only apples and watermelons.....
5) Jonathan should replace Demi Moore in Striptease
6) There is a movie called showgirls...I can attest to it....I have the DVD at home but I have not watched it yet........its not a porn movie...okie....
7) I won the night over with a guess - Collateral damage....How do you act that out???
8) Dennis Soh did a nice job in Romeo and Juliet..........Who would have guessed....Shake--Speare...Bravo!!
9) Pochahontas has the same colour skin as Yonghe
10) I still didn't get Charles' act with the "Intentions" part of Cruel Intentions........looks like he was having a tummyache....sorry Charlie....Haha

Haha.....Fun night though even it was hot!
We had our own dental idol session in the room with clones of Cowell everywhere......Ragging seemed so distant yet nearby......Charles did a quirky 5 seconds rendition of the char siew bao song....Siwen did an N Sync song with dance moves less than 5 seconds and Nijam sang his school song which lasted more than 5 seconds....
Kudos to Jon for being a sport, enlightening us about the way to go about singing Vanessa Williams' Colours of the wind...........while Yonghe sang the remix version the night before...

Wanyi.....you still owe me a nice T-Shirt and a pair of slippers ya................

All hail to the hopscotch(is this the way its spelled??) King!!!!
I defied the odds and emerged victorious at my first try at the official hopscotch annual competiton held at Sentosa....
I always thought it was a girls' game but Maojie said its not but Diana said it is.......conflicting ideas.....but hey at least I am a King of something....Haha.....

It was nice to see my blog site being adverted by my no.1 fan today.....Thanks for being an ardent reader.....Haha....

Saw my cousin's girlfriend while playing frisbee and the sea....Again its my cousin's girlfriend.....not some chick I tried to flirt or pick up......Was suprised to see her there.....She was holding onto a float in the middle of the sea but she could not swim......Siwen must learn from her!

Many thanks to all those who planned for this trip to Sentosa...really appreciate it......it was fun.....

"Jailhouse Rock" by Jon Peter Lewis

Finally, I am back!!!!!!
Lost in the wilderness and Back!
I had decided to format my hard disk.......because of multiple automatic shutdowns, immobilisation of my control panel function and the incessant outpour of pop ups when opening a window...... It took a longer time than I thought.... Many thanks to Fengyi especially and Ivan (just in case you are reading this).....haha...

This entry is for my dedication to Jon Peter Lewis......who gracefully took the fall for John Stevens........
His energy, voice will be missed by me every wednesday.....Such an entertainer.....American idol is turning into a female powerhouse show.......yawn........

5566 is on the NKF show now..........Xueli.....your Renfu got hair extensions lor.....a bit weird huh.....

Float building tomorrow.....sigh.....
I totally agree with Diana.......yonghe, you are full of crap....haha.....Diana.....thanks for reminding me of the number of days left...it is very encouraging.....haha...

"I'll Be Missing You" by Puff Daddy featuring Faith Evans

Do you people miss me already.....I know Yew Choon is.....He is already bugging me for this update....

Got lots to say right from the trip at Pulau Ubin....Cycling was pretty fun especially when it is in a group....I always ended up in the rear...Am I such a slow rider? I would think of myself as a leisure rider.....
I had a bad omen before cycling, thinking that I might fall again and sustain more scars on my already mutilated legs... Well here came the inevitable, I went downhill a little and I loss my balance because of a enormous tree root....my bike flew.....and I maintained my balance while landing on my 2 feet. I didn't fell down and looked like a clown.......but my butt hurt real bad at that time.... No scars...yipee....but my legs looks like the moon with sandflies' bites encompassing the area unprotected. My legs are mutilated, rotten, unsightly, bumpy and disgusting.......Well...not that bad.....actually....

Did my FOC proposal for games the other day....ended pretty late though.....Just felt saddened that I will hardly have the time to interact with the juniors cos I can't be an OGL and play the games with them.....sob sob.....Anyway......

Counterstrike today was pretty fun.......I went in the game center with a little bit of apprehension thining I will screw up cos I haven't been joining the class in LAN......But hey...I think I did quite well...... Kenkiller(Gengfeng) kept getting slain by me......how ironic........Give Chance(Siwen) actually was better than oat(Bran) today.......another irony.......

Savour this update cos the next one might be a long wait.......So sad for Yew Choon.....

"My Girl" by Smokey Robinson

Just want to extend my thanks to Stanley, Yonghe, Dennis and Siwen for being able to attend my church easter service...Thanks for your time......Hope you guys enjoyed it...Diana....apology accepted...Haha.....Don't really need public apology actually.....Haha..

Had a talk with Wanyi, Stanley and Dennis......Told them my mum keeps pestering me to get attached.........well not exactly pestering.......but dropping hints now and then......well not actually hints because they are pretty obvious......argghhh....you get what i mean..........

Everybody seems to be listing their requirements....also my turn....Haha
These traits should be in order....

1) Fillial Piety..........Well I expect the girl to be fillial to not just her parents but mine.....and if she has a kind heart towards the elderly.....that would really impress me more....

2) Same faith............I don't expect the girl to be superspiritual......maybe for her to just respect my faith.....if better IN my faith..

3) Feminism....not okay...............The biggest turn off in a woman..........that is my answer......There is a fine line between striving for equality and being a feminist.....I always respect equality (I always believe a woman can be independent) but not feminism.......

4) Intelligence.......It has always been the IT factor for me.....I find smart women remarkably sexy.......well not smart as in academically smart but she has the knowledge and charisma to engage in a good conversation and being able to carry herself off well.........most of the time it complements though...at least that's what I observe......

5) Money...........I keep saying I want to look for someone rich jokingly......but it does have a little truth in it.....i admit only a little.......for practical reasons of course...

6) Appearance...........No need to be like Tyra Banks, Kate Moss or Gisele Bundchen............I am not that shallow......except for the money part...Haha.........But if i get to choose.....I choose Gisele.....Haha....

Waking up early etc are just crap.......don't take it seriously......
I am not a sucker for love....everyone who knows me knows that......But I do believe in true love......
These traits are ideal but everything will change when I found the ONE.......Have I found her????

This is so unlike me to talk about love.....all thanks to diana and xueli....Haha.....

The Passion of The Christ / Signs / Kill Bill vol.1

Technically I have seen 3 movies this week....One in the cinema......Two at home....I have been waiting for so long since the beginning of exams so that I can finished my stacks of DVDs at home...

Watching the passion was tough for me.....To see Jesus suffering for someone like me....and the suffering was enormous......The movie was good that it sticks to the biblical truth and is considered to be one of the most accurate bible films....... The only problem with the movie is that people with no biblical knowledge will find it slightly difficult to comprehend why did Jesus have to suffer and die at that time........It boils down to a simple verse -

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life."

Jesus was sent by God to die for the whole human race.....people back then and people now....for our sins........ I must admit.... I did cry in the cinema.....probably about 1/2 of the film.....And I am not ashamed about it!

Signs is another Mel Gibson film that he actually starred in it.......Joaquin Phoenix - the cleft lip actor that Prof Voon mentioned was also inside......I think he looks pretty cool with a cleft lip though ....haha.....The movie is not merely about aliens but faith......Pretty decent movie though

I watched Kill Bill today........its a love hate feeling towards this show.....I like the way it is filmed but it is just too gory....I had a tougher time watching this than passion of Christ.... I mean it is sad that the director is banging on REVENGE to attract people....the explicit fight scenes.....and how a person is so bent on revenge.....and it goes to show what the people nowadays are attracted by....Uma Thurman.....BLood....and Revenge...........

But I do feel for Black mumba (Uma Thurman)....I don't condone revenge but I think she has every right to be revengeful but to be revengeful and sadisitic is terrible......And the movie is so unhealthy.......So that explains my love hate relationship towards this film.....Hopefully Kill Bill vol.2 has lesser carnage............Do you really think that will happen?? NAh......

The blood shed in passion of Christ was for love and sacrifice
The blood shed in Kill Bill was for revenge.......................................................

"Viva Forever" by Spice Girls

The only spice girls song I found decent........Viva Forever........But I must admit I have 2 spice girls album..........must be the fiasco that hypnotised me to buy the album.........

Well, I spent the first 12 hours today sleeping and when I brother brought my phone over to tell me that I got a lot of missed calls, I decided to see who called me......
Upon that I came about many messages received.........And I got the shock of my lifetime......well not really my lifetime but I had a shock........I thought I was dreaming still......

I actually got a VIVA distinction for physio.......Wow......I was suprised that with my own abilities, I can get so far........But that I realised its not by my own abilities.....But its definitely a blessing from God....

Congrats to Wanyi......4 VIVA distinction.....how did you do it??? You better review your mugging methods if you want to be just average...apparently its not working.....haha....Thanks for the rides...

Siwen....1 shy.....3 is not a bad number too.....Do your best tomorrow ya...

"I Want It That Way" by Backstreet Boys

This is for Siwen.....cos she wants my next blog title to be after a backstreet boys song......so she had it her way.....haha....I remembered this is also the first song Kevin Richardson actually sang solo for at least 2 lines....haha....Siwen your favourite leh...

Finally, I spent today with 2 of my friends.....at least they are appease.....for the moment.....after me not spending enough time with them due to the exams........was glad to be able to go back to the normal lunching and happy hour KTV and supper schedule instead of books books and more books....

Congrats to the VIVA distinction people......you know who you are......

Personal note to Charles.....I think we must start canvassing again......haha..this is the time you wouldn't like to read my blog...and no you can't have it your way.....haha

"Survivor" by Destiny's Child

YUP.....that's the title of my favourite TV show.....but we ain't discussing about this today...

One more day and I will have survived this ordeal....3 brutal weeks......the longest 3 weeks of my life......well not really....haha....just exaggerating.....
Finally I will have the time for my friends.....time for myself...but most importantly time for God......

I am having some oral "disease" lately....Remember the knock I had that cause my bleeding from the inside of my gums......it has obliterated into some majestic ulceration and I cannot eat on my right side without feeling the burning sensation......
Some of you might know that I got a little bit of my dentine exposed on my upper left canine.....and I have been sensodysing it.......Left and right....what a pain...but i am a SURVIVOR!!!

I still want to watch the Passion of Christ....and Taking Lives....anybody game during the hols??

Best wishes to those taking VIVA this coming week.....haha....
