"Proud Mary" by Tina Turner

Service was refreshing once again on a sunday morning. Couldn't make it on saturday due to Dental Public Health Screening. I was giving some oral hygiene instructions to the bystanders and convincing them flossing is good. lol..

Anyway back to the service. Pastor Kong preached a phenomenal sermon and it further substantiates the point of me being so proud to be in City Harvest Church. The fact that this church is going from glory to glory. Having started with only 20 youth members 15 years ago. It is now the second largest church in Asia. And not only that, we are actively into missionary work, bringing 100,000 plus people into the kingdom of God within 8 months of work. I am so proud that this church is not a family church. I am glad that this church is reaching out to people who needs God and is meeting people's needs. I used to think that a family church was great but not now. It is better to do the will of God and seeing how God can use ordinary people to make a difference makes me want to be used.

Success always comes with detractors. No doubt there was a period of time City Harvest had gotten some flame. I am sure there are still some skeptics. There is no basis of argument really. The amount of work the church is doing for the community is far beyond anyone could have imagined.

Thank you Bobby for bringing me to City Harvest 5 years back.

"Thank You" by Christian City Youth

Wow........what happened yesterday will go down as one of the most defining moments in my life. I started my weekend with a cursed friday the 13th. Everything that could happen wrong happened! I could not start my RP clinics because my grandmother's case was too complex for me. Perio was even worse where I got probably wrongly accused by "er hem". Well I should take some responsibility too....but I still don't understand the logic behind my ass being screwed. And when I was about to go around settling my patients for next week, I found out I failed my crown competency test again. I could not bear to go to Cheng How's birthday celebration because I know I would be extremely moody and will be in a very foul mood.

I must admit I didn't attend Service 2 because I overslept. And when I woke up I was so angry at myself cos I really want to go to receive some spiritual enlightenment. In the end I went to Service 3 and I was so deeply blessed. I almost felt that God kind of made me overslept so that I will be in Service 3 to receive His word. Pastor Phil Pringle's sermon deeply stuck me and I felt so touched after that. His theme for the sermon was being a soldier for God. When he said that no problem is too big for our God, be strong in the times of trials, God wants me to be successful no matter what and fear not for God is with me, I felt like God telling me that through him and I teared intermittently throughout the service. And lastly when Pastor Phil decided to pray for the creative arts ministry including the choir durnig the altar call, I went up and I just fell under the presence of God which was so strong. And when I went back, I felt like I was singing in another voice and it just made me want to serve God even more in this aspect. All in all, everything would not have happen if its not for friday the 13th. Thank you God for a bad friday.

PS: I got the autograph of Joe Pringle and Nikki Fletcher on the CD........That made my day......

"Always" by Hillsong United

I failed my crown competencey test. Didn't really expect it but I know all things happen for a reason. Well, failure seems to be part and parcel in my dental school education. I had little failures in my studies before entering university. And it seems like the Fs are coming to me only as of now. But what doesn't kill you will only make you stronger. And besides with God beside me who can be against me? I am just going to take this into my stride and be a stronger person at the end of the day.

"Oh What A Night" by Billy Joel

I had the best and most fulfilling weekend ever since school reopened a few weeks back. Yesterday, a few of us (Cheryl, Qiuping, Derek, Chang Chin, Qiwei) chilled out at Harry's Esplanade. We ordered a super ultra diluted Margarita passion fruit and it was kickless. But anyway, it was a great night. We spent the whole night talking and taking countless photos on Cheryl's IXUS. WE should do this again someday.

Today, we celebrated Erni's 21st Birthday at Cheryl's place. And well it was fun. We went swimming in the pool, did the traditional and mandatory tossing of the birthday girl in the pool and in the end got some people pulled into the pool. Derek is the champion in holding his breath under water.....I am second though...... JJ is the only person who can do flips (well the only person who tried and was successful).

Happy Birthday Erni
